Who is LVNVFUNDG, also known as LVNV Funding LLC, and why do they keep showing up on your credit report? Many have asked themselves this on their quest to repair a blemish on their credit reports. Odds are, this junk debt buyer is turning up on your credit report because you owed a corporation some money, but never paid. Eventually the debt was sold off to LVNVFUNDG or one of its aliases. They probably tried to contact you once or twice, and they continue to keep the debt alive in the hopes that you will eventually pay them. Funny thing is, if this just turned up on your credit report, or if it has resurfaced after a number of years, you may actually find it very difficult to contact this company!

Who is lvnvfunding.com?
On occasion, information can be found on the lvnvfunding website, depending on whether the server happens to be up or not.
The lvnvfunding website tends to be down more often than not, and even when it is up, it is very simple, consisting of a stock photo of financial-looking stuff with some basic information about the company. They explain a bit about the company in the first paragraph (excerpt from the site when it was up for a period):
LVNV Funding LLC, ("LVNV") purchases portfolios of both domestic (U.S.) and international consumer debt owned by credit grantors including banks and finance companies, and by other debt buyers. As the new owner of any debt previously owned by another creditor, LVNV's name may appear on a customer's credit report or in a letter from a collection agency.

I recently got a letter in the mail fromTCI aka LVNV Funding LLC regarding a debt from 2003 from Wells Fargo Financial Retail Credit Inc. The debt is over ten years old. I'm pretty sure the statute of limitations is 7 years + 1 month after stopping original payment, so not even sure how pursuing this debt is valid or even legal.
Just got a letter from these screwheads. For a debt from almost 15 years ago. How do these guys get away with such predetory practises? Junk mail.
This popped up on my credit report for this quarter. Got a letter in the mail for a very old debt from 2003. Got a letter a few months ago in the mail. How can debts this old still surface. #Disputing. Should fall off.
THE CAPO- Compliance Officer for Resurgence the Big Brother of The Sherman Group is: Debra Ciapi 55 Beatti Place, Greenville, SC 29601 To get action: File a Complaint with the Greenville, SC Better Business Bureau and you'll get a response in ten days. Start at the top as they create documents based on what you provide them as they usually have nothing about you until you give it to them. Read all the reports on line about the suites. In addition, send a letter to The Federal Trade Commission, Consumer Protection Agency as they only investigate companies that have multiple complaints. The more complaints about this group the better the consumers will be to STOP THIS ABUSE of POWER they think they have.. STOP THE BULLIES
Last month my husband received a surprise wage garnishment for 11K from these people. They "sued " him in 2008. The judgement was in 2008. He went to the courthouse and got a copy of the court case. The original debt was for 5K. The rest was fees and court costs. There was a BOGUS PROOF OF SERVICE. The judgement NEVER showed up on his credit report. We had no clue about this. We filed a claim of exemption and a financial statement. They had 10 days to respond to what we filed and they didn't. The wage garnishment is released and we have it in writing. Do your research. Know your rights and how to respond.
They are a false debt collector, run by sex offenders.
Sounds like a class-A group. Falsified documents, sex offenders, scammers. At least they know how to party.
Who or What is this LVNV place??? They just ruined my credit report.. How do I get them off of my report??..It has taken me years to straighten out my credit score and finally got it good , and for these clowns to come along and make my score drop to poor is insanity...There is just NO WAY to get ahead . Cant buy anything without good credit ..I guess that is how the New World Order is going to control us....
LVNV states on my report that they acquired my debt in 2008. How can I find out what this debt is without contacting LVNV directly. I do not want to give them any information.
I hate when these scavengers crawl out of the woodwork. Trying to make a few bucks off of otherwise erased debt. They prey on weak people who are afraid to question important looking documents. A quick google of these debt mongers reveals their history, and it doesn't look like any number of lawsuits will change their ways. If your debt is old, dispute it with the major credit reporting agencies. It will probably get dropped off right away.
Google State Of Maryland case DFR-FY2012-012 against junk debt buyer / debt collector LVNV Funding LLC, Resurgent Capital, and other companies owned by the Sherman Financial Group. The State of Maryland took the Sherman Financial Group companies to court because they had sued for debts they could not prove legal title too. They had used deficient affidavits (they basically manufactured title). LVNV Funding LLC ended up settling to avoid litigation. The Sherman Financial Group companies did not admit any wrong doing, but agreed to reimburse thousands of people they sued in Maryland. The founder and owner of these companies is a guy named Benjamin Navarro. Ben has a wife named Kelly and two sons named Earl and Owen. Ben keeps a low profile and keeps his connection to LVNV Funding LLC and Resurgent Capital Services well hidden. Ben’s public persona is that of a philanthropist and a major funder of the Meeting Street Academy and The Compass Fund in Charleston SC. Ben’s lifestyle and philanthropy is in fact funded by the harassment and suffering of others. Ben and his wife Kelly own a number of properties in different areas of the country but for the most part are based out of Charleston SC. A few of the properties they own /owned are located at 801 Star Of The West Street Sullivans Island SC 29482, 93 Broad Street Charleston SC 29401 , 10 Atlantic Street Charleston SC 29401 and 102B Sequassen Avenue Old Saybrook, CT 06475. If you are curious you can look up some of these properties web sites like http://www.Zillow.com or http://www.trulia.com to see photos , property value, taxes paid, etc.
I have been working on restoring my credit, and all of the sudden I get a letter from a place I have never heard of either. LVNV Funding. NO IDEA what this is, and WHY it shows up. I have not had any derogatory marks on my credit, until I was working with a financial advisor, and then this came crawling out of no where, and totally ruined 5 months of pay back etc to get a score high enough to qualify for a mortgage. Makes me wonder why the suicide rate is so high, especially when it comes to debt and what blood suckers like this do to families. DESTROY them! ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA WHAT THIS IS, AND WHY IT IS SHOWING NOW ON MY CREDIT REPORT.
lvnv is a PITA with a capital P.. i have searched the BBB in Nevada and south Carolina and find nothing under resurgent capital or anything even Sherman. i am frustrated i hired an attorney and they are cleaning up my report but this lvnv i see keeps refreshing the report even when they go in and remove it for lack of providing sufficient proof to keep it there what a pesty little critter this company is i went out on disability in 2003 and it took 7 years to win a continuous award but since then i have done everything i was told to do except leave my credit report alone as i am only 52 and i may need another car or even a home so what then with screwed credit how can i get even a car? i need more help i think i am sure the lawyers will get it removed but after how many months of paying them to fight these jerks seems the only ones they are going to have an issue with.
these jerks contacted me quite a while ago. I sent proof why I didn't owe them money. even sent affidavit from the company I actually deal with and not with the company I supposedly owed. they were supposed to drop it. now it shows on my report. I have bad credit and trying to rebuild. now a credit card I had for $300 has dropped the limit to $200. needless to say, I have no money to get a lawyer to help or I wouldn't have to be trying to rebuild my credit in the first place.
I am completely disabled and in a bad living area my wife and I are trying to buy a home and this LNVN is what is stopping us they have tried removing it but it keeps popping back up and making us unable to purchase a home.
@Stephen - Make sure you dispute it with every credit bureau that it pops on - Equifax, TransUnion, Experian. If you dispute the debt, the collection agency has a limited amount of time to respond, at which point it may just fall off. Otherwise, you'll have to sort it out with the collection agency. If the original debt is older than the limit (usually 7 years + 1 month, depending on the type of debt), then it should fall off even if they do respond to the dispute. You'll have to repeat the process for all 3 bureaus, as they won't do this for you.
Husband received a letter from them for a debt that is not his. Never had this credit card. EVER. Only received the 1 letter. And suddenly we have process servers knocking at the door. Also getting phone calls for a card that belong to his ex prior to marriage and stating he's responsible. Blood suckers! Oh, an none of this on credit reports. All 3 checked.
